Talking surf info please

I will be in Emerald Isle the week of Thanksgiving. Due to the great info found on here and other research I think my gear is ready. where to surf fish is my question. I will be pier fishing from the local pier but want to try my hand at the surf too. Been fishin all my life but quickly getting into the salt part. My wife bought me one of those carts the when she was there in Sept. As you can imagine I am reel excited.

Thanks, Lee

Lee,

I haven't been out since last weekend down here, but the puppy drum have been found in good numbers. There has been a stop net that the commercial guys have been putting in down near the Deer Horn Dunes neighborhood that have produced some trout. Near the Bogue inlet pier they have caught some trout as well. Near Bogue Inlet has been a happening place as well. I will be fishing and working on the Parrottheads float for the X-mas parade during my break, shoot me a PM and I can provide you with some additional details......I hope that you have a great visit to the Crystal Coast.

Northwest is best. Look for those slick days in the surf with the wind at your back and those will be your best trout days.
