Going to be going to buxton oregon inlet area over thanksging for the surf. Do you guys think that the stripers will be there and caught from the surf? If the water temp keeps dropping like it is.

i don't think that their numbers will be great, but they could be around. If I was going to be there at that time, i would stay on the northern side if you were just searching for stripers. Might start finding a few at the bonner bridge or the inlet. If not, maybe fish further north around coquina or corrola....

We are staying in buxton. But if there catching them up there we will probably make our way up there. If no stripers at the point hopefully the drum will be there!

yeah, the drum bite has done really well this year....I think that the big drum have started to slow down with the temp change, but there seems to be plenty of puppies around. The bluefish bite seems be everywhere as well.

this cold front hopefully will bring the bass in. The drum bite shoudl tail off as the water temps drop under 60.

I am pretty sure those were caught around the bridge - resident fish imo. They would be called ocean fish if they were caught on the ocean side of the bridge in the inlet. No fish have showed up on the shoals yet - usually would show first of nov in the good yrs. Alot of the charter captains have planned to fish out of rudee for the year. Hope they show in numbers but not counting on it.

trout, blues, and pups are fun....but we try to plan the trip for stripers. So, we'll just have to wait and see.

They are starting to catch a lot of stripers in the Delmarva region with sea lice, so they are on the move. The only question is, will they be here in time???
