nice fish....put a 50lb shock leader one, FF rig with a 1-2" 100-125lb bite leader and a noggin off of a mullet, spot, sea mullet aka kingfish aka whiting aka virginia mullet and 8oz and let her rip (in reference to your other thread)............but it looks like youre doing a fine job. what were the lengths on the other two?

Great fish good going!

Just a little advice. Please don't lift those big fish by the gill flap. They are very heavy and their skeletal frame is not designed for it. Since you are releasing the fish treat it as gently as possible. If you want to lift the fish for a pic that's fine but please cradle the fish in both arms. And when putting your fingers under the gill flap be very careful not to touch the gills. Wade out deep enough when releasing to fully float the fish. Hold the fish upright in the water by the tail and gently move the fish back and forth. When the fish starts to struggle in your grip release it. If the fish swims off congratulations on the successful release. If it turns on its side grab its tail and start over.

Just a little friendly advice and congrats again.

Here's a pic of a lousy fishermen cradling a nice fish.

Very nice indeed!! Be down next sunday... Now we'll have to re-consider where to go. Was gonna head south, but seems like there is plenty of action on the top side!! Oh the dilemma....

Keep the updates coming socc

I was just in Corolla over the summer, the fishing's incredible there. All I could catch were small croaker and spot, there weren't any drum around. But the fishing is consistently good out there. Enjoy the vacation!

nice catch! your first is one you'll always remember.

in the future just remember what plug said about not holding the fish vertically and try to get him in as quickly as possible.

again congrats
