Default Luxor/ Crack Reel service

Does anybody know a place where these reels are serviced. I have an old one and I don't know how to service it.

The Surfcaster, a mail-order catalog business in Darien, CT. One of the few--if any--sources for parts.

The reels themselves aren't that difficult to self-service if all you need is a cleaning and re-lube. I can see, however, why some people would be reluctant to do this without a schematic. If you want to have it checked out by a pro, and especially if think you might need to replace a few items, The Surfcaster is just about the only game in town.

Thanks,

I didn't realize West End serviced these reels.

I thought when the surfcaster changed owners a few years ago they stopped servicing Luxor/Crack.

Why doesn't anybody use Crack reels anymore?

They built like a tank that's held together with rivets made of butter-soft brass Every screw is a potential failure point.

Replace the side plate screw, and the one that holds the anti-reverse dog in the left plate, with equal size stainless screws.
