Hi guys,
I'm a retired navy captain heading to Duck for a week with my two kids and my sweeties 3 kids - what do you suggest for surf fishing during the day and at night - bottom rigs?? double hooks - what size do you recommend for croaker etc?? bait recommendations - assume small castmasters will work during the day and night as well - would appreciate any assistance you can give me to help the kids catch some fish - if you're ever up Annapolis, Md way would be glad to take you out on my boat for some stripers. Regards, Jim Burans |

Just got back from that area, small croaker and spot were the rule and I do mean small....8 maybe 10 inches. Caught em on Fishbite bloodworms and shrimp on a two hook bottom rig. I was using long shank size 2 hook i think.. have a lose pile that I picked em out of..
Didnt have any luck on metal but did see a few blues in the surf. Heard of a couple a puppies but didnt see any myself. Good luck
