Default offshore charter Rec.

Does anyone have any specific recommendations for a boat/captain for an offshore charter for Sept out of Hatteras or OI. Looking at the web page for the OI fishing center is just a long list of beautiful boats. Personal recommendations are the best. We are hoping to be able to target tuna but figure Mahi and billfish might be targeted as well.

Arch is out of commision for a while with a broken leg. I forget who is covering for him but it's still a great choice.

Sea Creature is the best kept secret down in Hatteras, also the largest in the Hatteras fleet.
The Release is another boat that is consistant at the docks in Hatteras. You'd be hard pressed to find a better captain than Steve Coulter.

John, from Robs site
Mr.Drum Slayer himself has fallen..

Our Boy Arch Bracher took an unforseen/weird type of fall that has lead to him severely breaking his leg.

All is fine and I am sure the Stubborn S.O.B. will return to kick all of our Arse's in Drum Fishing..Just maybe not this year

I am starting an online "get well card" we can send him,so that he'll have something to read in his down time

So,here's to You Arch ..I hope you heal up fast Bro and at least you have a fine woman like Summer to take of you.

Now..if I can get Pat,George,Nick,Jimmy,Russell,Kenny,Joel,Lee and Mike Grover outta the way..I think I got a shot at being the " Pier Drum King " this season

Springer If you have a large group Britt Shackelford has a 12 pack permit this year I went out with him in May and had a great trip. Google doghouse sport fishing.

Rick Caton, Custom Sound Charters....hands down!! Alot of folks don't like him because he is a fish killer, period. You pay, you will play. You want fish, you will get fish. Do a search and check him out.

I've gone out on Sea Angel out of Hatteras Inlet and Runaway( I think runaway is up at teach's now) Both were great charters and they work to put you on fish, if one thing aint workin, they'll try another. I'd go out on either anytime.

I have fished with Jeff Ross on the Obsession. He and Arch make the trip to Mexico every year. Jeff is a damn good fisherman and his mate is a great guy also. He is outa Pirates Cove. They all will work hard to put fish in the freezer.

Arch/Pelican and Jeff/Obsession are both top notch boats. I would try them first and the earlier you can book the better chance you have of getting your dates.

Default been out four times

with Tom Krauss out of Oregon Inlet. He runs "The Hooker", a strictly offshore sportfisher. As others has mentioned above has having their favorite, he has put us on fish everytime and lots of them IF they could possibly be found.

Default Thanks

Thanks for all your replies. I ended up booking with Arch Bracher on the Pelican. Turns out some years back my uncle (who will be on this trip) filled an open slot on the Pelican with a group he did not previously know. He said the Captain and boat were great and wanted to go out with him again. The guy must have some reputation, his callendar was very full.
