Default Coming to the coast

I'm relatively new at surf fishing. I go to the Outer Banks all the time but usually to fish out of the charter boats at Oregon Inlet. I'm headed down there this weekend and I was wondering where a good spot to go would be. I've got a 4x4 truck so access isn't a problem. I'm not necessarily interested in any particular type of fish, my girl and I just want to catch some fish. Any body got any suggestions?? I was planning on using shrimp and cut mullet. Thanks ya'll.

Depending on where you will be staying and how far you would like to drive I would try to try to fish around Oregon Inlet if you are staying around the northern OUter Banks. If you are further south, then someone else would need to give you some advice as I don't know down there as much.

Best to try very early (first light) and just before dark as that will be the best likely time to hook up with.

If you want to try the piers, like I said use a gothcha plug....red head/white body, red head/chartreuse body, red head/silver body, pink body with black spot lures.

Good luck,

Default Oh and

stay clear away from any staked off closure areas (birds, sea turtles) and air your tires down to 18-20psi, take you a tire gauge so you can air them back up when you decide to come home. A lot of people don't usually air back up until they decide to come back home, just remember when you only have 18-20psi in your tires.....slow down when you make your turns.

I was planning on fishing around Oregon Inlet. The wind looks like crap for this weekend but I've been told the fishing is still ok at Oregon even with a NNE wind.
