Default corova surf fishing

i will be fishing the surf this upcoming week in corova and was wondering what kind of fish to expect off of the surf and what kind of baits do i need to catch them...any info will be greatly appreciated.

Not a lot of structure up there best bets would be sandfleas in the wash for pompano or cut bait for blues.

i went ridin down the beach the other day up there. rode past a couple guys catchin blues. dont no what they were using but they were using bait.

Default Might be going to Carova this Summer

Have stayed in places from Kitty Hawk down to Salvo .never been to Carova....is there an air station for use before hitting the road coming out of the Carova area?

u really dont need to let air out ur tires. sands pretty hard. but if u do theres a gas station up the road that i think as air

Yep, what he said...Except, at high tide !
That is when you hit the deep fluffy stuff, (at the boathouse) as you drive thru Swan Beach to reach Corova Beach. We were staying on Corova beach about 3 weeks ago. Every nite on our way back to the house the wife and I pulled out someone else that didnt air down, snapped my rope on one guy (3/4 ton P/U) and had to break out the 3"er to get em out.
Yes the gas station has air ,as does the post office, BUT VERY SLOW !!! our onboard air failed the second day there, and we were stuck using the .25cent machine...33" tires 14psi to 60psi 45+ min........not fun
Goin back in Sept for another week, with our brandy new Extreme Air compressor and tank!

was in carova last week 18-20" blues, amazing thing was the gill netters with their nets from beach to sandbar. a few kingfish and baby drum on the beach side blues on the sandbar side.
