Fished from last Friday night until yesterday afternoon… Conditions could have been better...water temps generally ranged from the low to high 50’s… a bit cold for a good big Red Drum bite…at one point though water hit 60 degrees, but it was temporary.
Fished both the usual areas and also some off the radar screen places… In a word; fishing was slow , at least for the Biggin’s… Although I managed 2 citations, they were not LARGE…41” and a cheatin’ 40” … Also had a few Puppy Drum and a 32” Yearling… There were also Dog Fish and Skates, but they too were scarce. I heard of a couple other big Drum taken…but it was slow for all the fishers I spoke to… Poppy |

I was there, seven hours of incredibility - unbelievable.
I called, and called Chuck, but to no avail. There wasn’t a window during this blitz that at least three people were hooked up simultaneously through till dark when I left and it was still going on. Even a blind squirrel get an acorn every now and then - that was me yesterday. I got mine, over and over, again - Roy |

Does it not always play out like that...I left Tuesday after 4 days of relatively hard fishing w/ little to show for it...
The very next day (Wednesday) an event happens and thus the reasons why they call the place the "Giant Red Drum Capitol of the World! That's fishing...cannot always be lucky! Poppy |

Roy I was there. I got up from False point at about 3:30 you were not at your truck and the space was filling.
So I went down near the Hook and set up and stayed till 7:30. They were some nice size fish .The smallest I saw was a 27 incher. I was on my way up after Bob left for home. Got the word when I stoped for more bait. the Phone message came in at about 5 Pm., but I know you called.

Chuck,
Yea, I ran out of bait and went to RDT for more and was informed that the blitz was on just 1000' South of where I was, so I went back and joined the fra. Within an hour there were so many people there, I’m not surprised that I didn’t see ya. Hope to see you again, soon, on the beach. Roy |
