Good time to hit up a charter?

Next week is spring break and I'd like to go on a charter boat sometime this season. So far the weather has been getting better, not too hot, not too cold.

I'll be on one from sheepshead bay going for stripped bass. Good time to try my hand on the charter boats? Normally I'd ask them myself but I haven't been to emmonds in like months.
