Default Charter in December

My son and I are planning on fishing the obx the first week in December. We'd like to mix some surf fishing with some boat fishing if at all possible. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a half or full day charter for striper fishing in the Hatteras area that won't break the bank. thx, bob

If you are coming that early you will definitely want to fish out of oregon inlet and not hatteras inlet (too far south this early). I have only heard of a few caught from the beach so far. Call oregon inlet fishing center at (800) 272-5199. My first choice would be the rock solid w/ aaron. Another good boat is the doa w/donnie. They are probably booked but the fishing center can help you out. Good luck. If you haven't booked a place yet, try in the s. nags head area as it is pretty close to oregon inlet.

We go out of O-I every year week after turkey day. We have had great fishing on the Sinbad with Will and Vivian McPhearson. I would highly recomend them to anyone. You should probably call as soon as possible all of the boats book up early. We book a year in advance just to keep the same week each year.

2nd the vote for Rock Solid.
link removed , please do not post links ,thanks derf
He's a great guy, he LOVES fishing. He runs a 25 Maycraft, so you aren't paying for a 58 Carolina Boat. But for Stripers you don't need a big boat.

He WILL put you on all the fish you want, highly recommended.

Looks like I may be doing a charter on DOA in January. Rock Solid is pretty much booked solid the entire month. Its pretty much impossible to get two dates together. How consistent is the boat fishing?

The boat fishing is usually pretty good in january as long as you get good weather. DOA is a good boat.
