Morehead City... what do you think?

Im starting to look, it will be a while before we move, but Im doing research.. A friend recommended I look into Morehead to relocate to..

My family and our jobs..
ME (Manage a Billing system at a hospital)
Wife (VP of Compliance at a bank),
2 daughters 6 and 2.

what do you guys think of
the town?
the schools?
the employement possiblities?
real estate?
Fishing? surf vs boat?

I know this is pain in the butt, but I have a hard time finding anyhting out without actually being there and I trust fisherman more than just about everyone else to give pros and cons..

can't say that I blame ya for leavin good old Ny. We have been lookin @ N.C. for awhile also. Taxes alone down there are a good reason to move. Good luck on your search.

I have spent some time there not a lot but it seem like a great place.My Daughter lives about a hour away.Not a real lot of surf to fish unless you ferry to the barrier islands. But plenty of places for boating.And you can get on the ferry at ceader island and go to OBX.The O'boy Oberto(spelling?) red fish championship was at Moorhead city this year in october. Should be on ESPN sometime in Jan.We attended the final weigh in at the NC seafood festival.Great food and a fun time.BC I sent you a PM.

town is super with a great small town atmosphere.
I work in the schools and I think they are top notch.
employment possibilites are tough unless you get a federal job or at the hospital.
real estate is starting to really take off.
fishing is great. check out my fishing reports on different message boards or look at my website.
I have lived in a lot of places and here is the first time I really feel at home.

Check my reply on the fling question. If surfcasting is a huge priority the outer banks is the only area you will want to consider.
