Default Alantic beach / EI area whats happening

I just got a vacation approved for Nov 4-11 and I was wondering about the surf fishing opportunities. I am familiar with the area but I have never been down there this time of year. Mostly I fish the Macon area or the open beach during the summer.

What is running, what type of tackle do you recommend? Can't wait.

Thanks

Question

Thanks guys

I am really looking forward to getting down there for a week. I am not much of a pier fisherman, but I might try it. I will be staying near Fort Macon an area where I have pretty good success.

I guess I should plan on bringing waders, but I hope to avoid them if possible.

Is there bait around and any need for a cast net this time of year?

Bring your waders. You will need them.Yes there is still bait around but you can buy live shrimp if you want to go that route.I use mostly mirrorlures and plastic grubs on the Trout and Fort Macon and the Jetty is a good spot to start.Let me know when you come down I will tell you more.

Jellybear
I will be there starting Nov4 and probably start fishing the 5th. I enjoy catching trout, but was hoping for a shot at drum. Do I stand a chance?

This past summer I used some of my big meat sticks and had a ball battling those big rays along Macon. Is there any big stuff running beach in November or should I just leave the big rods home?

Again thanks for the info...............Ghost
