Default Need Advice

Hello all.

I do a lot of light action trolling in the Chesapeake Bay with Muskie rods. I also visit HI for inshore wreck fishing guide services and use their hardware for amberjack, kings and the occasional cobia. The guys I go with use International 50s (w 80# line) for these fish which seems overkill and they admit 90% of their gear is for offshore fish.

I want to get a Shimano Trinidad in the 12 or 14 size to go on a Lami inshore classic (the heaviest 7' one rated to 30# line- already have it) for light trolling in the bay and visiting the inshore wrecks in your waters. Torium 16 is too big for my rod, Penn GS are too heavy after the 535. I'm dead set on a trinidad.

Will a 12 handle a 50# fish in your inshore waters? Or do I need to buy the 14? I'll be using braid 20-30# Powerpro.

Thanks for helping a new poster out-
