I will be staying in Nags Head for a few days the middle of this month. Plan on taking the surf rods. Would appreciate any advice on what we should be fishing for, drum, stripers, bluefish, etc? Also, what is the preferred bait, spot, mullet, something else? Would we be better off driving a little further south to Oregon Inlet? Thanks for any help.

Big drum will be around in the Northern Outer Banks. I'd check out the reports from Avalon Pier and Nags Head pier.
Ya got a good chance to land a drum from the surf in the Nags Head area, too. Anywhere from Corova to O.I. It's a good time to be surf/pier fishing in Nags Head, that's for sure. |
