Jesse Should be on the page once he gets out of school. He is one of the EI experts. I will just give some info. Spots will be off the piers, along with blues, spanish, may be some trout. Drum and flatties near the inlets. Enjoy

I was there the last weekend. Lots of bait in the water, and tons of dink blues. Take some heavy gear, and rig for sharks. They were thick with the blues creating chum all day on Tuesday. Nice ones too! Could have grabbed the tail of two 5'+ in less than knee deep water while throwing metal from the beach. Several broken off by an unprepared angler close by. One in excess of 6'. Others have been catching spots from the pier (Bogue Inlet), and also from the sand. Pompano, maybe a Spanish or Fat Albert if you are lucky. Always subject to change in a weeks' time this time of year. Just be flexible, and you won't be dissapointed. Also, some good inshore charter guys in that area if you want to try some big drum in the sound.

Specks may be running the beaches next week, but maybe not. If you see a lot of local boys driving the beach and plugging with Mirrolures early and late you will know it's on. 8 ft light action spinning rod and whichever color Mirrolure they have the fewest of at The Reel Outdoors. If not then the bottom fish come and go on the pier and it's true about those blacktips. Was on the beach right under the pier with my family yesterday and saw one come right in the suds.

use fish for bait like snapper blues, pinfish n spots......they're good for sharks and larger blues. Check bogueinletpier's website too

they put that stop net by the pier and it will be easy pickings! The water temps in the surf are still too high for specks.
