Hi. Can anyone tell me what is the best route to get to Corolla from NYC? I am not sure if it would be faster to stay on 95S to Richmond, VA and cut over, or just go down the DelMarVa peninsula instead.
I was thinking of going directly to Chincoteague for one night, then moving on to Corolla from there. Thanks! ![]() |

we drive form NAgs Head every winter to Somerset NJ for the Fly Fishing show and the best way we found is up the easter shore on rt 13 then to 95 in Wilington DEL. Then up the NJ TKP. Pretty easy drive

Follow Rt. 168 South and keep goin' South. Rt. 168 will turn into Rt. 158 at Barco. Keep on Rt. 158 across the Wright Memorial Bridge into Kitty Hawk. Merge onto Rt. 12 North to Corolla. Then all ya need to do is find a nice hole in the bar and catch a drum. ![]() |

they are exactly right. 95S is ok if you hit no traffic (which never happens) You always wind up sitting aruond Philly, Balltimore and DC..........Rt 13 is slower but less miles and ultimately faster.

It just depends IMHO. I've done the run a few times and tend to mix it up. In the summer taking the penn. over can be a pain in the a**. So many stoplights and people trying to get down to the CBBT, that I prefer 95. In the off season, either works fine.
