OBXsalt, what size blues do you normally see in your area. Whenwe fish near Cape Lookut, nmost of them are smaller (10-20 inches). They are good eating and chunk bait size, but don't pull that hard on a surf rod.

Them drum are startin' to show up a few miles to the North of Kitty Hawk.

I'm just bitter because John can go south this Fall. With the baby coming in two weeks, I'm going to be staying close to home this Fall.

Nancy is scheduled for a cesarean on October 6. The little bugger doesn't want to turn. The little one has my wife's stuborness alread; I'm in fot it.

Catch some drum for me this Fall and I hope to see you in the Spring.

I dont wanna catch those big choppers.......but dont worry ill fish NJ some this fall. My daughters first trip south was when she was 9 weeks old, during cobia season.

allittle north of KH huh? does that mean a place in VA or in NC? Mightmake the run next weekend if I can get my act in gear. First trip is always the hardest.

good luck with the C section. Ill be in vegas that day so the drum will blitz hard while im away....they did last year

no doubt....but a zoo is better than no fish. I might get down there next weekend.

You got what your talking about in Oct. and Nov. Late Nov. into December the big boys come out. I park my Jeep and my butt on the north side of Oregon Inlet, open up both coolers, throw a hopkins on and go to work. It's true the big ones haven't been running as much, but this year is looking good.

Spot have been going like crazy out here and the pups are becoming solid. i've heard even a big drum or two have slipped in. Weather just worked out right this year.

Default Report from Corolla...

Hey guys & gals.

I got here on Sat, staying in a nice beach house for the week w/ in-laws.

Sun morning started with some bunker on one rod and squid strips on the other for puppy drum and spot/croakers. Nada touch on the incoming, winds were SW I believe.

Tried this morning too on the outgoing with a SE wind, nada. Some possible blues busting bait & birds working them , heading down towards Kittyhawk fast but that's it.

May go crabbing and do some fishing tomorrow morning on the sound side; saw more activity there.

Last Thursday I was at Jones Beach, NY hauling in a mess of rockfish & choppers. Peanut bunker everywhere. Looking like a good fall run coming down this way.
