It's called Carova Beach.
And you'd be lucky to get up the beach now. Ernesto tore the **** out of the beach.

I know the Currituck outer banks took a hit, but I didn't think they lost that much sand. How bad is it? |

Talked to a buddy of mine that was up there during Ernesto. He said the back areas were flooded, waist deep H2O in some places, but the beaches were fine on the way out a couple of days later.

It's a mix. The backroads were terrible and I think some still are. Waves have been real high after the lastest storms passed Bermuda. I was told it got a bit calmer last night, but it had been impossible to get on and off at high tide for a bit. All the pumps have been spitting water into the ocean, and in Corolla that water had sewage. Kinda nasty. It should be cleaned up in another week or so I think. You can still get out there, just drive slow on the backgrounds or you could end up in a water filled crater.
