We'll be there too.....5th to the 8th.....just got a sitter for the kids so we can be there on the 5th at oh dark 30 inside of late afternoon look for the Gold supercrew with two PVC tubes on top probably anywhre from Avon to the Point....maybe farther north who knows

We'll probably be staying on one of the other islands. We''ll have to take a look at the camping spots and the fishing spots (and mosquito population) before making a final decision. I heard that there was some minor washover in places evn though the islands didn't take a direct hit from the two storms

Crash from Davis the choice is Cape Lookout. Is that where you hope to go.If so Derf, and his wife, myself and 4 others are going to be there from the 15 to the 19th. Will we see you.

Unfortunately, we are only there until the 14th. Otherwise, I would love to meet you guys and share some fish stories and beer.

We fish the area every year in October, so we have a few favorite spots from Cape Lookout up to Portsmouth Island. It will really depend on which spots look promising on the first day, since we will be camping (and won't want to venture too far from camp unless absolutely necessary).

If you have email access once you get there, I can email you an update on the fishing once I get home late on the 14th (my cell phone doesn't work out there or I could give you an earlier update). Last year, we had the best fishing ever in terms of numbers and size. We have found that the first few weeks after a hurricane generally yields better fishing, so this year might be another great one, since the two storms passed by not too long ago.
