Cool I need help in Emerald Isle

I'm going to Emerald Isle from aug 13-26. I'm gonna be fishin everyday from the pier or the beach. I plan on surf fishing at night n in the morning. At night I wann ago for the big one as well as sea mullet and those sized fish. For the "big one" i have an 8 ft. penn power stick with a penn 650 ss reel.I plan on using a live pinfish or whatever i can find. Would anybody suggest using 50 pound braided line on that reel? In recent years i've lost very large fish due to weak line.I wanna see what i have on the other end for once. I have had good luck with the live pinfish but any other suggestions on what to use and how to rig bait is badly needed and appreciated. Please help me decide on line to use. Thank you.

yeah, if u want a big one. fill that reel with braid, and put a mono shockleader on.

fish the pier during the day, and try and get some blues/shad and put them on ice for later.

about 6-7oclock in the evening, head to the beach and toss out , basically a suped up drum rig.

4-5" of 150lb single strand wire to a barrel swivel. sinker slide / sinker about that. 3ft of 100lb mono above the wire for rub resistance.

toss a chunk of blue or shad out in the first gut , and u got money

someone should answer pretty quickly. 7-10 is about the best time. cant shark fish on BIP (bogue inlet pier) , they real wierd about that.

ill be out on the end of hte pier more then likely, just walk on the top deck, look down and ask for Jesse .
