Hey, I'm going down to Oregon Inlet the second week of October to do some offshore fishing. Of course, I am bringing the surf stick to go out in the eraly evening/night, I am a plugger, what can I expect to catch, what should I gear up for, If I fish bait, what are the options??
Thanks AG |

derf!!! You are fishing for two weeks?!? 10/7 - 10/21 BITE ME!!!
![]() Oregon Inlet. The best bait during September and early October is fresh finger mullet. You can usually net your own with a cast net. Some people fish it whole but I perfer to chuck it into 2-4 peices depending on the size. It seems like every year without a hurricane screwing things up, there is a nice puppy drum (5-20 lb red drum) run on the beach at the North Side of OI / Coquina Beach area either late Sept or early Oct.
