Default ssslllooowww.......

It's been real slow this season. Been a few times, and caught absolutely nada, except for crabs.... and none of them were keepers!

A couple early mornings last week on the small bridge (from Nags Head to Manteo) there were some small trout, the little (2") mullet colored Storms were gobbled up. As for the surf, it was tiny croakers and a few tailor blues on small Gotcha's. I did hang out on the OB Pier a couple nights waiting for the cobia and shark guys to get some action, never saw any takers. All in all, a 6 ft rod with 6-8 lb test is all you want and disapointing to say all you need this time of year.

I second that. I will be all the down south on HI in Hatteras Village 8-26 thru 9-3. I use a 7' ML action FW spinning rod. White Sting Silvers and Small Spoons. Just have fun with the small stuff.

I'll also head out to the either the Point or Hatteras Inlet at least once or twice at 5:00 a.m. if there's tide movement looking for some blues, spanish or puppy drum.

Good Luck.
