Thought I'd make a jump to the NC board for a question on cobia. Here in NJ they show up in mid to late summer, although generally they are pretty rare when compared to the fishery in NC. Most of my encounters have been from a boat when they are up on the surface...
Since the only shots I really have had at them are sight casting, what would be your first choice to throw at them assuming you didn't have live bait? I hear colorful bucktails work well. Would a popper ever entice them? Anything else like a rubber shad or bomber? Thanks for any info... Bido
