Taking the family down to Myrtle Beach in late April. Can anyone recommend a charter either for larger fish bottom fishing or some near shore game fish? Prefer not to troll though. Also, need some indoor "seating" out of the sun for the kids.
Also, any recommendations for the surf would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Try Capt. Dick's Marina down in Murrell's Inlet. It's about a 20-25 minute ride down the bypass from where you are staying in M.B. They have some charters and headboats there. One headboat does half day trips mainly catching sea bass and stays within 5 or so miles from shore if I remember correctly. The other boat headboat, Capt Bill III, runs all day bottom fishing trips in the Gulf Stream. I was a fill in mate on this boat one summer and usually catches included sea bass, vermilion snapper ( B-liners), triggerfish, grouper, some cobia etc.. The mates, 3 or 4 per boat, will also set out drift lines catching dolphin and kings. The boat itself is 65 foot and carries about 45 people filled up. Once a month they also do an overnight trip which is a blast as well. Good luck.
