Yeah t I saw a few of them caught last year. Of course the newbie I am didn't have a chance,but I tried. Hope they are back this Oct. What else is running up there in OCt? Did hook a trout but that was it for me.

in all honesty thats the first time we have been up there in about 8 years ....
usually hang down around the 'buxton' area ; the fishing is usually better ...

HEy Derf what was the deal with that HIGH tide they had in Oct. DId you see it. The tide was up to the dune and above. It was wild. I would think it must have happen all along the OBX.

I was fishing both The Point and Ocracoke Island that week, it was the combination of full moon, high tide and a low pressure system off the cost. Almost all of Ocracoke's beaches were washed over at high tide as well as The Point. My buddies and I were the last ones to get off the beach on the south end of Ocracoke because we helped dig out a camper that got stuck.
What was really weird was after the low pressure system moved on or whatever they do I was on The Point at low tide around 1:00 am and I felt like I was standing on Mt. Everest.
