Hello all ,

I will be spending the New Years Eve weekend in Nags Head this year. I would love to get into some bass. Any tips (Im not asking for specific spots). I will likely hit the inlet. I will have plenty of rods with me: 2 12'ers, 1 10.5'er, and a 9'er.

Any suggestions on bait? Tide? Time? That would be most productive?

I plan to fish some lures also, including bucktails and large spoons. Any suggestions on something that may be more productive?

Thanks a lot guys!

Thanks guys!

Are there any head boats running New Years weekend that you guys know of or would recomend?

I didn't have a chance to get out much this year, so I am trying to make up for it now!!

I agree with derf. Been down about every other weekend for the past couple of months. Pea Island seems to be one of the hotspots this year. I've been using bunker and finger mullet on fish finder rigs. Haven't had much luck with lures this season. If your going strictly for bass, do yourself a favor and use 5/0-7/0 hooks. As of 2 weeks ago, puppy drum and sharks were hitting anything smaller every time I threw it out there.
