I am on the west coast (northern Cal) and have for the past umpteen years surf fishing Red Tail perch. Use my ATV to transport all my gear on the beach. Some org's are trying to get all vehicles off the beaches. Granted we do have a problem with unsupervised youngsters. racing up and down the beach.Cal Parks responding to these orgs may close the beach to vehicles.; Can someone enlighten me as to the requirements on the east beaches such as do you need a valid license? are there speed limits? do you need a special permit? These are some of the things we proposed to our Parks. Which they are taking under advisement. ASppreciate any info you can provide as to policy. Thanks Al Tennant

Al, since I don't have an ATV I'm not sure of the rules. I do know that some places treat ATV's different from 4X4 vehicles.
At Cape Hatteras National Seashore a street licesned 4X4 vehicle with current inspection and a liscensed driver is allowed on some of the beach. My I suggest that you go to the North Carolina Beach Buggy website for a more in depth discussion of the regulations.
