Question

Going to be staying in Corolla for a week (Aug 27th -- Sept. 3rd)... I have fished the OBX in wintertime for the striped ones, but never been in the area this time of the year.

I'm assuming that I am going to need to make the ride south at least to O.I. to get into some decent pullage? Have 4wd. Any chance of Sharks from the surf, Kings or Cobes from piers this time of the year? Have equipment to pin rig, but never have done it. Also I have never caught a spanish so that would be cool if I could find one of those too...

Any suggestions or general strategies, tackle shops, or other places to stop and shoot the shizzle... If the point re-opens I would be willing to make a trip down there for an evening/night... biters possibly?

Thanks for the help in advance fellas... just trying to get a game plan together. Would be willing to help anyone making the trek north to Delmarva, NJ, etc...

Been some nice kings and cobia seen on the piers of late--we have clear and HOT water. Tons of threadfins along the beaches always good for the big smoker kings of the summer.
