Thanks for posting the article and other info,Derf.
The Pilot seems to be presenting the conflict as an "economy vs wildlife" issue with both Brayman(Sarge) and Couch speaking of the damage the ESA closures are doing and could do to the local economy.
Not much in the Pilot article about what the closures mean to out of town Barneys like us that love to fish at Hatteras..

i tell ya' the are more in's & out's with this than i can keep up with.....
........... in the end it's gonna mean a whole lot less fishin' holes that ya can get to down there .
not gonna be the place it used to be ..
