Question

Hey guys and gals vacationing with the family @ Duck the week of July 10-17. Should I bring the 9' or the 11.5' rod? This is my first time surf fishing @ the OBX and was wondering if during this time of year its generally more productive to throw metal and plugs for cocktails and mackeral or bring the big stick and toss out some bait for the sharks and skates. Thanks in advance for any feed back

9ft and get some bloodworm fishbites and bottom rigs. Duck is pretty much in panfish land.

The 9ft would be manageable if you decided to go down to one of the piers in KH/KDH/NH or to the catwalks at OI or the causeway.

I would find away to bring both of them, especially if you can get farther south to do some fishing.
