Hi Joe!
Man, I wish I was going with you! Red snapper on the grill would suit me just fine! I just sent you a PM with some comments about your fishing vacation plans. FYI big jim

I have fished the Princess. You can use their reels or you can bring your own, I use a Penn slammer 6 1/2 foot medium action rod with the largest Penn GTi reel 50 lb Trilene big game line. If you bring your own gear, you can get the rig from them, they typically use between 12 and 16 oz of weight to get to the bottom in the Gulf Stream. If there's a lot of people on board, figure on getting tangled alot with the other people, especially if a shark is hooked and brought up, they tend to tangle a lot of lines. I bring a spinning rod and fish on the upper deck for Dolphin/King Mackerel and don't mess with the bottom fish, I have caught 10 dolphin before on one trip. I just got back from Morehead City Saturday week ago and fished the Capt Stacy on that Friday, caught 3 King Mackerels and hooked a 6 footer which broke my line at the boat as they tried to gaff it. The Kings are biting out in the Gulf stream now....the rig I use I make my self out of Malin wire, Eagle claw 84 3/0 hook and their 3x treble hook size 4. Wire up 18 - 24 inches of 44 lb test wire to a black swivel and the nr 84 hook, then wire up the treble hook using a 6-8 inch piece to the nr 94 hook. I use cigar minnows and hook it through the eye socket and stick the treble hook in the tail. Cast it out and let the bait drift back behind the boat. When it gets to 100 yds, and no strike slowly reel it back to the boat and let it drift slowly back to 100 yds. You will catch a king doing this lite lining setup. Good luck on the Princess.
