Cool

Hi everyone,

Want to go fishin the OBX for the first time during the last weeks of August. The wife read about the Hurricane forecast from NOAA and was a bit affraid her vacation would go down the drain, because they predict a season similar to last year. From what I understand, there was almost a storm a week last year. How bad was it on the OBX last august? Any evacuation issued?

Cheers to all!

evacuations & hurricanes are the chanches ya take ...
we have left on a fri nite not knowing if the island is gonna be open or not . the best thing to do is get the hurricane insurance ..........
10+ years & we never have lost a week , come close a couple of times
it's a gamble ya never know when a storm is gonna hit or where .

Hurricane Alex was sometime in August--lots of flooding in Buxton and Hatteras Village but gone quickly. It was the only one last year really to impact us. Lets hope for none this year

Sorry Brian,

I forgot about Ocracoke and the flooding that it took last year, while we (Crystal Coast way) just had a little wind and high surf. My bad....I seem to remember something like 300 cars got flooded by the rising waters.
