Fished Nags Head Pier this weekend. Satuday arrived at 5:00 AM and was into a blue on the very first cast. In the next several hours I probably landed 30 more, along with a half dozen grays.
Today I again was on the pier by five and into fish shortly after. The action was still going on when I left at 11:00 AM. I estimate I landed nearly 75 blues and grays. Kept five for this evening's fish-fry. There was also a sprinkling of spanish brought in, though none for me. I believe that's the first brought in at the pier this season. The lures of choice were Got-cha plugs, mainly white/red head and green/red head. The spanish I saw caught by me were all picked up on pink. |
