Ok... I'll just get these filthy things out of the way and not say anything else about it.

Other thrilling sights along the North Beach this weekend included a giant pile of net...

...and a few billion tires from one of the artificial reefs.

Hit the shoals on Sunday with Caton. Found some 64 degree water, but nobody was home except a few doggies, a skate, and this unhappy biter.

Note the old gillnet

We cut all that netting away and did some minor surgery to remove the bit that she had grown around. She was not a healthy looking fish... very skinny, covered in leeches. We may be the best thing that has happened to her in a long time.

Was on Portsmith Island 4/19 t0 4/23 and if I can do this right I have a similar story of poor pickins, but I got a 60 incher to share with everyone(thats if the up load link works).
Icant get the dam thing to come up.
I will try and post pictures 4/26/

The report was cloudy water and SE winds to 20knots tues thru weds. The clouds lifted on wed afternoon and the water cleared on thurs. The fishing picked up with blues and kings for thur and than got hot and heavey on fri the 22.
Landed a 50 inch shark on a 9/0 circle hook at the New Drum inlet and that made the whole trip as it is the largest fish I have ever taken from the surf.
It also was fouled in a gill net on its Dorsal and pectoral fins that had to be cut away before we put him back.

The dog days continue. Last night on the point you couldn't even walk back from your cast before they were all over the bait.

If there were any drum around they would have never made it to the bait.
