Surf casting in the Duck area for the first time aroung mid july. If anyone could tell me whats running that time of year and any tips on bait or lures to use I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

the bigger fish around then will be biter sharks... use any dead meat to get them.
for good table fare plan on fishing small hook rigs w/ bloodworms, fresh shrimp, and strips of fileted mullet. There should be small blues, southern kingfish (sea mullet), pompano, black drum, spot, croaker, maybe flounder, etc. good luck, the obx is always a good time. |

Bring a rod suitable to throw up to 3oz with 12 to 15 line on it. Bring some stingsilvers or other imitations.All of the tackle shops down here can help with lure selection. Should be a few spainish and bluefish there. Using the same setup as was previously mentioned,in bunkerhead's post you can also catch a puppy drum,if you're lucky.
