Heading to south nags head next week 12/27, wanted to know how's the surf fishing, or O Inlet. Thank you.

Well thats kinda a difficult question to answer. Generally it can be excellent, especially at night, but at times it has been very poor with lots of sand sharks eating the scarce bait before the Stripers can find it. Better go as soon as you can because in a few days the water should start reaching the Jan and Feb low temps when the fishing is at its worse.

Thank you Mudd,

Typically we go the at end of november and do pretty well on the banks of Oregon Inlet. This is the first time we've gone this late in the year, (unavoidable). I saw a water temp chart the other day for that area, it said 67. The weather is supposed to be mild next week so hopefully it will hold for one more week.

Water temps yesterday were between 48-50 in the general area. It should warm a bit today with s/se winds but we are expecting hard n this weekend.

we will be running around next week....no doubt the water at OI will be cold since we rented ahouse in nags head for the week. Though it does look like a warm up next week.
