I have to attend a wedding in February down your way. I will be staying right around Hatteras and hope to do some fishing. Is there anything happening during Feb? Also, how is the bluefin season shaping up thus far?.
Thanks. |

fishing is real iffy at that time of the year from the surf. most of the striper schools have begun their migration routes. there are still a few fish around, but mostly hit and miss.
the bluefin tuna season was just re-opened for 48 hours and fish are being caught. since very little is known about these fish and where they go, who knows what will happen in feb. basically, it wouldn't hurt to bring a surf rod along on your trip. you just never know.

Oakey, You're gonna get so plastered at the wedding that you'll have a 2 day hangover. You'll be lucky if you can drive home, let alone get some fishin in.

Sometimes the speck and pup fishing can heat up as well as the scattered stripers that Kip was talking about.. I've seen some nice specks caught at the jettys and south beach that time of yr. Who knows maybe the scallops will make a comeback and you and your's can go wading and raking scallops. Sometimes that's fun to do if there are no fish to catch, course I don't know how any of the above are going to fit into your wedding plans though....
