Couldn't help it so I went fishing from Sat afternoon thru Mon am.

Bait is scarce, luckily Frank and Frans was able to come through with crispy bunker and butterfish.

I checked out OI and Avon first. Lots of fish offshore all along the northern beaches but you needed to be there when the pods blow by, I didn't wait it out.

Concentrated on the point, water was 48 degrees. Sunday afternoon I caught 2 - 37" and 40". Jerry came out Sunday night and caught a 45" fish his first cast (his second 45 of his trip).

The point pelicans are again overly tame, and appear to have lost their ability to survive in the wild - I bet they don't make it through January.

I met Dean of the pepsi boys Sunday am, and fished briefly with Mick on Sunday afternoon. Heard Poppy is down there, but missed him.

Here's a couple of pix, the night one is fuzzy, I just could not aim it right in the pitch dark and I know that the Dickel had nothing to do with that.

Nice going Steve…

We fished the OBX this past Saturday and Sunday… bait (frozen or fresh) was nearly impossible to find…but we got lucky and found fresh bunker in Nags Head!

We fished Avon's beaches Saturday…water was 47 degrees and seriously weeded up…nada!

We then headed down to Cape Point late Saturday afternoon…thought I saw your truck…anyway, water was still real cold, at least on the north side, but a little warmer at 50 degrees inside the hook—nada again!

Sunday we concentrated our efforts at Ramp 55 to False Point…water was just right at 56 degrees…thought for sure we would find some Linesides…instead there where sharks and plenty of them…almost every cast at times!

We thought of hitting OI on the way back north, but kept on truckin'…

All I gotta say is that I saw three fish caught on Sunday at the point and SuperSteveC caught two of the three! He definitely had the touch.

Nice to see you again Steve.

Bait situation improved slightly in the past few days but the fishing didn't, at least for me.

I did witness one Large caught by an individual who had been on the island for all of one hour, after I had fished hard with no luck for four days! Oh the humanity

And Happy New Year Everyone
