Planning to head down to do some fishing this thursday. This will only be my second trip down to the Outer Banks, so I'm not totally familiar yet with the best spots or methods for fishing down there. My plan is to fish around Hatteras and OI, and any tips would be greatly appreciated. If anybody doesn't want to post anything then feel free to send me a private message. Thanks in advance for any info.

FishinFEEver - gonna whack some of those pre-spawners? LOL!
10 days ago when I was down the fish (and fishermen) were pretty much concentrated around Oregon Inlet and it was a bait chunking/eel soaking thing. The fish have just been late showing. With this last blow, the fish seem to be spread out quite a bit with pretty good sign of fish down at the Point and Hatteras Inlet. I suspect there will be another good push of fish coming down from the Cheasapeake as well so your timing could be pretty good. * posted this before I read Poppy's report. Much more timely and descriptive report. When I get to work I'll shot you guys a link to get an online permit you will need if you want to fish Pea Island Wildlife Refuge at night. Some nice beach structure south of the inlet but you have to have a permit to fish at night. No vehicles permitted but a short walk over the dunes to the beach.
