If you are going down to OB this week it is going to be crowded with 100 year celebration,you might want to go in back way thru manteo.I left thurs. & they where starting to put road detour signage for beach road as thru traffic,Bush is coming for a day & locals said large crowd was expected.
Fishing was good at OI beach & catwalk,Whalebone B&T has eels.Boats where getting limit of large bass.fished MP 15 in Nags Head 1-10" ling. |

The president being here is just a rumor as of now. If he is coming down then they are keeping the day/time quiet. John Travolta is confirmed as an mc for the recreation of the flight for all you saturday night fever fans that are out there..

I think I saw Saturday Night fever on the marque at the theatre in Avon as a premiere run..... :laughing (j/k)
When I left Tuesday, everything was being set up....and the traffic was beginning to get bad up Kill Devil Hills area....I can imagine what it's like this weekend and beginning of next week. Would still be cool to see some of the fly overs while out on the beach fishing... B. |

Will arrive there Monday afternoon. Taking I-95 to I-64 through Manteo to avoid the Kitty Hawk area. Probably added a few hours to the trip but I hate sitting in the car going no where. The President is going to be there Wednesday, according to the press.

If I read correctly, you should be alright. The celebration was scheduled foe Friday 12/12 to Friday 12/19. Oregon Inlet is South of this celebration, but I am sure everything nearby will be busy.Good Luck! I am sure you will have a good time one way or the other. I know I will! Steve MSA#9999 |

I think the last day of the celebration is wednesday and they did confirm that the president will be coming in that day. Traffic hasn't been all that bad yet so you should be fine especially if you are staying slightly south.
