Unhappy

I just read on hatteras reality site that much damage from Buxton to Hatteras village. Durant station and other motels wiped out. The National weather service news only talks about Nags Head which was not as bad.I can only imagine Ockracoke is a mess also.Thay took the direct hit from this storm. This is sad I wish I could go help out.

I heard that only two walls were left standing at the pelican's roost tackle shop in hatteras. It's not even on the ocean side of hwy 12. Also saw a picture of dillon's corner in buxton with the gas pumps almost completely under water.

Major inlet cut in the east end of Hatteras Village. Just got off the phoe with Mo and he said it looks to be navigable.

Frisco Rod & Gun and well as Red Drum Tackle made out ok. Surprisingly it would appear like most of the damage was done by breaching of the dunes with minimal soundside flooding after the storm passed to the west.

I was just thinking about you guys and hope you and your families are ok. Any news on the condition of the Frisco Pier area. I had plans for April in one of the homes there. I figure the realties are plenty busy so I didn't want to bother them.
Stay well,
Pete

I have plans to be on Hatteras mid November. Sounds like damage is from lower Frisco through Hatteras Village. Anyone have any idea if Hatteras Village is likely to be accessible by truck by then, whether the restaurant at the marina in the village is still standing, and whether there will be anyway to get ferry to Ocracoke then? My assumption is that storm should not adversely affect fishing and accomodations from the Point in Buxton and North from there by then. Does that sound right? Thanks.
