I have never seen the as much sheer biomass in the water as I did this week. The entire Point area is thick with chovies and everything that eats them. I saw spanish, blues, ribbonfish, albacore, possibly kings, sharks, and every kind of seabird that flies.

There was a solid spanish bite on Tuesday evening, and all the bluefish you could catch. White stingsilvers were the ticket. A guy had a kayak out about 100yds farther than we could throw from the beach, and he came back in with some 5lb spanish.

Night time was the right time for carhood rays and sharks. We released 5 biters between 38-54"FL, lost one about 50" in the wash, and had plenty of unstoppable runs.

Hope the hurricane helps break up some of the sandbar shoals that keep holding the fish out of range during the day.

SuBourbon,
I did not by any chance talk to you about my Yellow "Fish N Dive" Kayak on top of my blue Suburban did I?
I saw a pic of you somewhere and it looked like the guy that I talked with awhile about kayaks on Monday evenning.

Not sure when I'll make it back out there. These storms are going to make it pretty... um... interesting for a little while. Beyond that, I seem to have thrown my back outta whack with all those giant vacuum cleaners. Biggest one we beached was six feet from wingtip to wingtip. I certainly won't get out there until I can lift a beer in my right hand without a stabbing pain below my shoulder. I think you saw my truck on the RTD thread about beach rigs. If you see it on the sand, I'm around. If you stumble across a FnD at a good price, let me know. I've made a promise to myself to be ready for the Brown Ones before May.

I could be convinced to part with my F&D...
I want another yak and if I can swing the one I want soon or you are willing to buy soon I am sure we can work it out.
Send me an e-mail @ wormyobx@earthlink.com
and we can discuss.
