Suck
Suck Suck and Suck. Any piece of bait you throw will be consumed within 30 seconds by a 5ft wide butterfly ray. I suppose that could be fun, but only for the first or second one. After a dozen, it gets old. There are a few blues around, but they are many many casts apart. The geography of the Point has changed radically in the past 2 weeks- the sandbar that was forming to the north has joined up with the old tip of the Point, and there is a big basin inside of it. I guess 2 months of SW blow has really taken its toll. C'est la vie. |

Hey Wiz...
Point wasn't my first choice either, but I was trying to catch up with some other folks and thought they were out there. Found one of them, then I decided as long as I was there, I'd soak a few. I was hoping there might be some teeth swimming around, but no such luck. Saw a guy with some citation spots on the north side of OI yesterday. Weed is thick on strong tide, nearly unfishable. I got a 4" croaker, guy next to me had a 5" flounder. It was comical. I put the croak out on a big line, but no dice. I think I'll fish the creek in Engelhard today. |
