Just a question, guys. Last year I gave a few bucks for membership and that nice looking plate. It seemed like a worthwhile Assoc. and since my future beach access at OBX is always under attack I figured I'd join. Well I haven't heard a lick from them since I picked up the plate from Frisco Rod and Gun last April. What gives? My hometown Assoc. LIBBA has a website and newsletters an annual meeting, and a picnic. Would a yearly letter be asking too much, or was the whole thing BS. That is no way to build support. Anyone got answers?
Thanks, Shag

OBPA was first established in 1978, was pretty much deactivated and then revived in 2000. Derf was right in that it's a grass root organization but recently has gotten a lot of background info from the Freedom of Information Act.
Maybe not too unlike a special ops team: small, mobile, tactical but very focused. Posted on the Beach Buggy Forum. http://www.stripersonline.com/ubb547...;f=28;t=000148 |
