Leaving for a week of fishing in Corolla area starting 6/23. Plan on bringing the kayak, surf rods and assorted pluging poles. Any idea what to expect fish wise this time of the year. Anybody use the kayak in this area. Normally fish the ocean and bays of south jersey where stripers, blues, weakies and flounder make up my targetted fish. Any suggestions as to where to try or what type of lures to use would be appricaited. Is there an intercoastal waterway in this area that holds fish?
Thanks for your help.

Check my reply in the kayaking forum for oceanside possibilities. The soundside in Corolla (Currituck Sound) is pretty dead from what I am told. They used to have an excellent LMB fishery that was destroyed by saltwater intrusion, pesticides etc. I work up that way and never see anyone fishing the soundside (except for crabs). If you want backbay action for small stripers you can try around the Manns Harbor bridge. Check in with Bob's B+T as you enter Duck on the soundside.
