Don't give up on the drum yet. I fished Mon from 8pm - 630 am and caught my largest of the year. I measured it against my rod and it went 49/50" and was very fat. The only problem was that she fought like a 20 lb shark. She swam away strongly though. I looked closely to make sure it wasn't a black drum. I also got a 40" and 36"er. The water temp was 68. Good luck cobia fishing.

Drum during cobia season?????? you bet......ya never know.....and the odd Jack shows up too

gotta love hatteras for the variety of bruisers you can catch there
