Talking

Its Started!

There's a report on Red Dog's Board saying there was a 75 lb Cobia landed at da Point this past weekend. Rays were also seen in the area. And with the temps expecting to be getting warmer and warmer the next few days, the Cobia fishing has started.

Mudd,

I can confirm that report. My buddy caught it late yesterday afternoon. Of course he had to call me back here in Philly to rub it in a little.

Yeah, he called me too. Nothing like hearing about catching 75lb Cobia when your busy as hell at work! He caught it on 17 lb line. Well looks like I will be down there the weekend of the 18th I hope there are some around then too.

I'm getting psyched for the Vineyard Mike. Have you been out at all?

Mike,

I have not been able to get out at all this year. Work has been too crazy this past year. Probably the first time I'll get to fish will be in the Outer Banks the first week of June. You reminded me I still have to make my ferry reservations. I'm really looking forward to driving from Avon to Martha's Vineyard in one day. The house all set?

How did you do on the river this year?

The house is all set. It should be alright not like last year but in the vicinity. I just made my ferry reservations last week. Yeah that drive should be a blast

I only fished the river once and it was horrible. Dan had some decent fish up to 20# but he didn't fish it all that much either.

Those guys have some luck in hatteras or what! Every trip so far they have at least caught a couple big drum. I just got a heaver and plan on heading down the 18th with JohnM if all goes as planned.

I don't mind dogs a bit. I am really looking forward to getting down there. Just be forewarned I am a complete novice with a heaver. I think I am gonna bring it down the shore this weekend and do some practicing.

Mike,

You'll do ok with the heaver. Just make sure you spend some time picking out bird nests over the next two weeks. Make sure you leave me a cobia or two.

When you get a chance e mail the address and phone number for the vineyard house.

MikeS: I think we know each other!

Does a '97 blitz and a 27 pound bass mean anything to you?

JohnM: Hi there!!! Congrats on your drum....keep me in mind in the upcoming weeks. Hey, did I mention that I got a 40 pound bass in March? Is that early or what? Call me!

Dave C,

...on the fly? Yep, that was me. Haven't seen you around the park in a while, but then again I haven't been hitting there as much the past few years. How have you been? I'm still trying to better that fish.
