Cool

Can anyone help me with the specs for cutting down the 1509 to 12'4" as in the Hatteras Outfitters version. Also any assistance on butt length and guide type and spacing would be greatly appreciated. See you on the outer banks. Thanks in advance for your help.

if i am not mistaken the 1509 gets it total length by cutting down the butt section .
mine is full size ,13'6". didn't have anything cut off . are you doing a spinning or a conventional ?
mine is spinning ,so i could probally be of some help with that spacing .

Cool

This will be a conventional rod matched with a ABU 7500 CTC3. I will be throwing Sufix 20# on the reel.

I know Tres works real hard to lay the rod out to the "HO" specifications. I think it would be real unfair to post his specific lay-out, spacing, etc.

He may share the lay-out with you, if you buy the blank and components. I would e-mail him and see if he will share it with you.

Good luck,
