Will be in Avon July 4th week for our first visit to OBX. My teenage son will have his new Wrangler and he wants to drive on the beach and fish with his buddy. Thanks to Poppy, et al. I've found fishing advice. But could use some help on finding info for safely driving on the beach.
Thanks,
EdR

Thanks very much Derf. Just the info I needed. I also think the photo of the tide coming in on that car will show the boys that improper beach driving can have serious consequences.

Another site posting specific Outer Banks Driving Rules may help! http://www.outer-banks.nc.us/s_s/bchdrive.htm

Thanks again, guys, for the help. The boys followed the advice and had a ball. They loaded the jeep every day and fished the beaches. They hit Oregon Inlet, Avon, Buxton and Hatteras Inlet with zero problems. Not bad for rookies. Especially, considering we saw vehicles get stuck every day. Can't wait for next year. We had a great time.
